Dr. Sarah Love earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000 from the University of Minnesota. She went on to complete an internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta, Georgia followed by a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Minnesota. Prior to veterinary school, she worked for Outward Bound as a field instructor, teaching and learning from many outstanding students.

Dr. Love has worked at large, referral specialty hospitals, teaching at the University of Alaska as well as consulting on a mobile basis. She is comfortable working in the field with canine athletes as well as with the tiniest of patients in the ICU.

As an internal medicine specialist, she travels to general veterinary practices to offer consultations on unusual medical cases and to perform a variety of specialized procedures that may not be available to pet owners in western Colorado.

As a veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation specialist, she travels to general veterinary practices, client’s homes and canine training facilities to consult with veterinarians, owners and dog handlers on how to best approach rehabilitation and canine athlete development and problem solving.

Combining these two specialties and certifications in a mobile service allows services to different patients and clients that may not have access to advanced care without traveling a long distance.

Outside of work, Sarah loves to spend time in the outdoors with her family and her Labrador retrievers, hiking, biking, and participating in retriever field trials. Living in northwest Colorado allows them all to get outside.
